Homework Expectations
Monday - Thursday students will take home a "Math Links" worksheet to complete at home and bring back to school the following day. These home links are opportunities for students to practice concepts learned at school that day. Ms. Melissa will go over the worksheet with the students the day that it is assigned. These worksheet are meant to be completed by the student with the help of an adult. These should never take more than ten minutes at most. Fridays students will not have math homework.
In addition students are asked to read EVERY NIGHT for at least 20 minutes. Parents are asked to keep track of their child's reading by filling out the reading log found in the students communication folder, and are asked to return it to school the following day. Students can read by themselves, can be read to, can read together with someone else, or can read book online. Please ask your child questions about what he/she read so as to help with their comprehension. The more a child reads, the faster he/she will improve their reading and writing in english.
